Maevex MGX Series

The Maevex MGX Series represents Matrox's next-generation AV-over-IP platform, built around the emerging IPMX (Internet Protocol Media Experience) open standard for interoperable professional video over IP. The MGX E1 and E2 encoder models produce 4K60 H.265 streams at 4:4:4 colour depth with 1 to 2 frames of latency, while Matrox IQ Mode provides a proprietary ultra-low-latency path for intra-network KVM and remote workstation extension. Both encoder variants output to standard IP networks at substantially reduced bitrates compared to uncompressed video transmission.

The MGX D1 and D2 decoder models reconstruct streams onto one or two HDMI outputs respectively, making them suited for both single-screen remote desktop extension and dual-screen workstation display configurations. USB device extension allows keyboard, mouse, and USB peripherals to operate across the IP link, eliminating the need for separate KVM hardware at the remote end. IPMX interoperability ensures MGX units are compatible with third-party encoders and decoders that implement the same open standard, providing deployment flexibility as the installed base grows.
