The Matrox Unreal Engine Plug-in extends Unreal Engine with direct integration to Matrox DSX LE5, DSX LE6, and X.mio5 PCIe hardware, enabling broadcast-quality virtual production and live motion graphics output from Unreal Engine workflows. The plug-in provides Unreal Engine with access to Matrox DSX hardware I/O for SDI and IP video ingest and output, allowing real-time rendered graphics and virtual sets to be composited with live camera feeds and distributed to broadcast infrastructure without intermediate capture hardware.

Supported on both Windows and Linux operating systems, the plug-in targets OEM broadcast application developers and systems integrators building virtual production stages, extended reality (XR) studios, and live graphics insertion workflows on Unreal Engine. Integration with the Matrox DSX SDK hardware offload capabilities maintains the low-latency, frame-accurate behaviour required for broadcast applications. The Unreal Engine Plug-in is available to OEM partners and broadcast system integrators, not to individual end-user operators.

Unreal Engine Broadcast SDI and IP I/O

Connects Unreal Engine directly to Matrox DSX LE5, LE6, and X.mio5 PCIe cards for real-time SDI and IP video ingest and output from within the Unreal Engine environment.

Virtual Production and XR Studio Workflows

Enables live virtual set, extended reality, and motion graphics workflows where Unreal Engine-rendered content is composited with live camera feeds and output to broadcast infrastructure in real time.

Frame-Accurate Low-Latency Output

DSX hardware offload provides frame-accurate, broadcast-synchronous output timing from Unreal Engine, meeting the strict latency and synchronisation requirements of live broadcast production.

Windows and Linux Support

Compatible with both Windows and Linux operating systems, covering the primary platforms used in professional broadcast and virtual production facility deployments.
