Monarch EDGE Series H.264 Encoder Decoder Appliances

The Monarch EDGE Series comprises half-width 1RU and compact 1RU appliances purpose-built for REMI (remote integration) and live remote broadcast production. The E4 encoder models deliver four channels of synchronized H.264 video at up to 4K UHD 60 fps over SRT and MPEG-2 TS networks, with the E4 10-bit variant supporting 4:2:2 colour depth for broadcast-grade fidelity. A companion D4 decoder reconstructs four streams simultaneously, enabling symmetrical encode/decode deployments across bonded IP links.

The Monarch EDGE S1 combines one encode and one decode channel in a single compact 1RU chassis, making it a practical choice for single-camera uplinking with return feed — a common requirement in mobile broadcast trucks and remote contribution workflows. All units share a unified management interface and are designed for installation in half-rack configurations, two per 1RU using the optional rackmount kit. SRT-based transmission provides adaptive bitrate and error correction over unpredictable public internet paths.

4-Channel Synchronized Encoding

The E4 encoder handles four simultaneous H.264 streams at up to 4K UHD p60, keeping all channels frame-synchronized for multi-camera REMI and remote production applications.

SRT and MPEG-2 TS Transport

Supports Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) and MPEG-2 TS over IP, providing bonded-link redundancy and error correction across public internet connections with unpredictable bandwidth.

10-bit 4:2:2 Broadcast Colour

The E4 10-bit variant encodes at 4:2:2 colour depth for broadcast-grade video fidelity, preserving colour accuracy across contribution workflows where downstream processing is expected.

Compact Half-Width 1RU Form Factor

All E4 and D4 units fit two per 1RU using the optional Matrox rack mount kit, maximising appliance density in portable broadcast racks and fixed equipment rooms.
